F.A.Q. Frequently Asked Questions
| Q. | When can I enter? |
| A. | You may enter now! All junior fair entries must be received by mail or postmarked by June 9, 2008 and open class entries must be received or postmarked by June 9, 2008. Entry forms must be completely filled out and a check or money order must be included for your entries to be processed. Absolutely NO LATE ENTRIES will be accepted. |
| Q. | If I mail in my entry form, how do I get my exhibitor tags and fair passes? |
| A. |
All entry tags will be ready for pick-up in the entry department after June 18, 2008. You may pick up your tags any time after that date, during regular office hours. If you want you tags mailed to you, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Make sure you attach adequate postage if you have many exhibits. Mail entry forms and fees to: Northern Wisconsin State Fair, ATTN: Entry Department, P.O. Box 48, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729. Please make checks or money orders out to Northern Wisconsin State Fair. DO NOT SEND CASH! |
| Q. | When do I bring in the items I entered? |
| A. | Refer to the dates in the Premium Book on page 4. Drop off date depends on what you enter. |
| Q. | I don't know what department to enter my items in. |
| A. | If you are an adult you must enter under Open Class, found in the front half of the Premium Book. Open Class Departments will start with the letter 'A'. Senior Citizens may enter in the departments beginning with the letter 'D'. If you are in 4-H or another recognized youth organization, you may enter in Junior Fair Departments, found in the back half of the Premium Book. Junior Fair Departments will start with the letter 'B'. It is up to you to know what your exhibit is. The fair office cannot be responsible for advising you on what category your items belong in. Incorrectly entered items will be disqualified at the time of judging. |
| Q. | What if I need to change my entry? |
| A. | In rare cases, changes may need to be made, especially in the case of live animal exhibits. Contact the Department Superintendant listed in the Premium Book to make sure there is space for your animals before requesting a change with the Entry Department. Changes in non-animal categories will not be allowed after the entry deadline. |
| Q. |
Why do I have to enter and bring my things in so early when the Fair isn't until July 9th? |
| A. | It takes many hours to set up items for judging. After judging of your entries, fair workers will spend many hours tagging and displaying the items. Judges availability usually dictates when judging dates are set. It takes weeks, if not months to put together displays that are attractive for viewing by fair visitors. |
| Q. | Can I enter by e-mail? |
| A. |
Sorry, but no, not yet. At this time you may e-mail question for the Fair. Visit the Fair website listed in the front of the Premium Book for the latest information. The Entry Department will have regular hours between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. beginning June 18. On June 23 and 24 the office will be open until 6:00 p.m. During Fair Week the Entry Department will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. |
| Q. | Why does this book have to be so confusing? |
| A. | The Northern Wisconsin State Fair is regulated by the State of Wisconsin. The rules are spelled out according to the law as defined byt the State of Wisconsin. Our partnership with the State of Wisconsin is valuable, however, government regulations often lead to lots of rules which must be made available to the consumer. |
