Re: Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds establishes Funding programs through the Community Foundation of Chippewa County.

The Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association Inc has developed two funding opportunities through the Community Foundation of Chippewa County to aid in the development of the Fairgrounds. The Northern Wisconsin State Fair Endowment Fund was developed as a seedling fund with the intention of building a perpetual endowment which will provide a source of income from its investment earnings once reaching its endowed level. The initial funding of this seedling fund was made possible through the contribution of all revenues received for hair cuts provided by Fantastic Sams hair salon during the recent 2009 Northern Wisconsin State Fair. Fantastic Sams’ staff provided haircuts for $6.00 on Wednesday and Thursday of Fair week. Owner, Gigi Rauckman presented a $1,200 check to Association President, Chuck Frenette as the first gift to the Endowment Fund. “These funds start a process for everyone to help preserve and rebuild the Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls” stated Chuck Frenette.

In addition to the Endowment Fund the Association also developed a Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association Pass-through Fund as a tax deductible vehicle for donor contributions received for current and donor designated needs. This fund is designed for businesses and individuals who would like to fund specific areas of the Fairgrounds or who want to show their financial support for the continuation of events, activities or utilization of these grounds. Rusty Volk, Executive Director for the Association, stated “These funding opportunities make it possible for everyone to help preserve the memories of the past while developing the Fairgrounds of the Future for Chippewa Falls”.

Recently the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association Inc signed a 30 year lease of the Fairgrounds and developed a Strategic Plan for the Fairgrounds complete with a concept plan of how the Fairgrounds will be developed over the next 25 years.

Tax deductible gifts to the Northern Wisconsin State Fair can be directed to the Community Foundation of Chippewa County, P.O.Box 153, Chippewa Falls WI. 54729 and designated for either the NWSF Endowment Fund or the NWSF Pass-through Fund.
